Scope

TrueNAS Restic Backup is a private backup tool used only by its owner, with the owner's own Google account. It is not offered to the public and has no other users.

Google user data the app accesses

The app requests a single Google OAuth scope, https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file. This lets it create, read, update, and delete only the files and folders that it created in the owner's Google Drive. It cannot access any other files in that Drive, and it does not access the owner's email, contacts, calendar, or profile data.

How the data is used

The app uses this access only to store, check, restore, and prune encrypted backup files in the owner's Google Drive. Backups are encrypted by restic on the owner's own server before they are uploaded, so the stored files are not readable without the owner's encryption key.

Storage and sharing

OAuth tokens are stored only on the owner's own systems. No Google user data is sold, shared with or transferred to third parties, used for advertising, or used to train AI or machine-learning models. This website does not use cookies, analytics, or tracking.

Limited Use

The app's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Retention and deletion

Backup files remain in the owner's Google Drive until the owner's retention settings remove them or the owner deletes them. Access can be revoked at any time from Google Account › Third-party connections, which stops the app from accessing Google Drive.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
